'Its been great and I have made new friends'
'it's been an oasis of friendship'
'the course gave me so much confidence and encouraged me to try new things'

'Our feet were tapping; we felt a range of emotions as we were charmed, soothed or energised by the singers, singers who had learned their stagecraft well. Not only they benefitted: I sat next to some people who had watched the rehearsals, enjoyed them, felt part of the process and been amazed by the progress of the singers from week to week.'

What's on offer?
SingSwingSing! is a 7 or 10 week course of vocal workshops for a group of over 65 year olds run by Big Band and BBC proms vocalist
Matt Ford.
SingSwingSing! is designed for people who perhaps feel lonely, or still a little nervous about getting out and about, and who have an interest in singing, and a love of Big Band/Swing Era music
(Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin for example).
Do I need to have previous singing experience?
No! You don't have to be a great singer. We're not looking for the next X factor finalist! You just need a love of the music and a willingness to commit to the course. The main workshop course is open to anyone aged over 65 years old living within the Nuneaton area.
I'd rather not sing, but I'd still like to get involved.
There are spaces for 'audience' members, who will provide moral support and feedback to the singers, while also learning from watching the process unfold, and enjoying the social aspects of being in a group of like-minded people.
So what do the singers do in the sessions?
Each week the singers will work on their chosen song with Matt Ford (and star pianist Matthew Regan)
focusing on one of the six essential skills required to perform the music of the Swing era.
OK, I'm interested, but when do the workshops start?
Our 2022 courses have now finished, but watch this space and your local press for 2023 courses.
Sounds good, but what's it going to cost me?
Nothing! And I mean nothing!
Through our partnerships with community groups and registered charities, we have been awarded grants (from The National Lottery, Postcode Local Trust and Arts Council England) to run the projects at no cost to participants.
This grant pays for everything associated with the workshops. There's no catch and no small print!
When will booking open?
WE ARE NOW IN THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR FUNDING TO RUN MORE SINGSWINGSING! COURSES IN 2023
