THEY ENJOYED THE COURSE
'Its been great and I have made new friends'
'it's been an oasis of friendship'
'the course gave me so much confidence and encouraged me to try new things'
'Our feet were tapping; we felt a range of emotions as we were charmed, soothed or energised by the singers, singers who had learned their stagecraft well. Not only they benefitted: I sat next to some people who had watched the rehearsals, enjoyed them, felt part of the process and been amazed by the progress of the singers from week to week.'

What's on offer?
SingSwingSing! is a 7 week course of vocal workshops for a group of over 65 year olds run by Big Band and BBC proms vocalist Matt Ford.
SingSwingSing! is designed for people who perhaps feel lonely, or still a little nervous about getting out and about, and who have an interest in singing, and a love of Big Band/Swing Era music
(Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin for example).
Do I need to have previous singing experience?
No! You don't have to be a great singer. We're not looking for the next X factor finalist! You just need a love of the music and a willingness to commit to the course. The main workshop course is open to anyone aged over 65 years old living within the Nuneaton area.
I'd rather not sing, but I'd still like to get involved.
There are spaces for 'audience' members, who will provide moral support and feedback to the singers, while also learning from watching the process unfold, and enjoying the social aspects of being in a group of like-minded people.
So what do the singers do in the sessions?
Each week the singers will work on their chosen song with Matt Ford (and star pianist Matthew Regan)
focusing on one of the six essential skills required to perform the music of the Swing era.
OK, I'm interested, but when do the workshops start?
The next course, hosted at The Ambleside Club in Nuneaton, starts on Monday 6th June 2022, and runs for 7 weeks.
The sessions are 3 hours long (including breaks), 11.30pm - 2.30pm
NEW FOR SINGSWINGSING! NUNEATON
We're offering 'drop-in' Vocal Health & Development sessions prior to each of the main workshops.
These sessions are open to anyone and everyone! They will last 30 minutes, and are a great way to start off your vocal week!
Enjoy a friendly social group, and work on breathing techniques, vocal warm-up, vocal health and maintenance.
You might even fancy hanging around to be an audience member in the main workshop.
Drop-in sessions start at 11am and finish at 11.30am
Sounds good, but what's it going to cost me?
Nothing! And I mean nothing!
Through our partnership with The Ambleside Club, SingSwingSing! has been awarded a Postcode Local Trust grant
(from The People's Postcode Lottery) to run the course.
This grant pays for everything associated with the workshops. There's no catch and no small print!
We are actively seeking funding from a variety of sources to run more free workshops in other areas.
When will booking open?
Booking is now OPEN!
UPDATE: 09/04/2022 - ALL THE SINGING SLOTS ARE NOW BOOKED! ONLY 3 'AUDIENCE' SLOTS
